More on Lions

Today, we started off by continuing with the story - The Lion King. We read a few more pages today. We read till Simba and Nala reached the elephant graveyard. We shall continued with the story tomorrow.

After taking a short break, I played them a video about lion.

Video: LIONS: Animals for children. Kids videos. Kindergarten | Preschool learning

Then, we had a short discussion about the video and I also read them some facts about lion.
These are some of the facts that we had covered today:
- male lion has mane
- female lion is called lioness
- lion is bigger than cats
- lion has big paws with sharp claws
- lion lives in Africa, in a grassland called savannah

After the short discussion and revision about the facts of lion, I asked the children to suggest some activities that they might be interested to do about lion.

Some suggested colouring worksheet, some suggested similiar worksheet that I prepared for the leopard/cheetah, while some suggested to do some art work.

Suddenly an idea pop up and I get the children to discussion on arranging food to make a lion head. We might carry out this activity either on Thursday or Friday.
